Annual PARISH MEETING Thursday - 5th May - 7pm - Whalley Old Grammar School, Calder Room.
26th of April, 2022
There often is confusion between the Annual Parish Meeting and the Annual Parish Council Meeting. All Town and Parish Councils throughout England are required by law to hold an Annual Parish Meeting,
The purpose of the meeting is to give the Parish Council, and other local organisations an opportunity to let local residents know what they have been doing over the past year. The meeting is also an opportunity for electors to have a say on anything they consider important to the people of the Parish.
The Annual Parish Meeting is for all electors of the Parish. It is not a meeting of the Parish Council. Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting however, only registered electors of the parish may speak during the meeting, who have the right not only to attend but also to speak on any matter of local interest.
The Chairman of the Council will chair the meeting. The agenda will be in the format of a Chairmans Welcome, followed by his Annual Report, Summary of Financial Accounts year ending March 2022, Guest Speaker and Open Public Forum.
We welcome your support.
