Whalley South – Accrington Road – Whalley Easterly Bypass – Whalley Clitheroe Bypass – Whalley Road – King Street
Whalley North – Accrington Road – Whalley Easterly Bypass -- Wiswell Lane – Clitheroe Road
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out.

The Lancashire County Council (“the County Council”) in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, (the Act), and of all other enabling powers, HEREBY makes the following Order: -
The Lancashire County Council (KING STREET AND ACCRINGTON ROAD, WHALLEY, RIBBLE VALLEY)(Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2026, is hereby temporarily Amended in that:
i. To amend Article 3 as follows:
3.The prohibition will be operative nightly from 20:00 hours until 05:00 hours on 1st September 2026 until 4th September 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016
This Temporary Amendment Order shall come into operation on 10th August 2026 and may be cited as “The Lancashire County Council (KING STREET AND ACCRINGTON ROAD, WHALLEY, RIBBLE VALLEY) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2026 (Temporary Amendment) Order 2026”

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1.No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of King Street and Accrington Road, Whalley as follows: -
King Street – from a point outside The Swan Hotel to a point outside the Co-op
Accrington Road – at its junction with King Street travelling in an
easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.
2.Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3.The prohibition will be operative nightly from 20:00 hours until 05:00 hours on 1st September 2026 until 3rd September 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016
4.Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
5.An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via: -
Whalley South – Accrington Road – Whalley Easterly Bypass – Whalley Clitheroe Bypass – Whalley Road – King Street
Whalley North – Accrington Road – Whalley Easterly Bypass -- Wiswell Lane – Clitheroe Road
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out.
