TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council consider it necessary or expedient by reason of works being executed on the following length of road that the prohibition should come into force without delay under Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Notice.
1.No person shall cause any class of traffic to proceed over that length of The Sands, Whalley at its junction with Broad Lane travelling in south easterly direction for approximately 20 metres.
2.Nothing in this notice shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3.The prohibition will be operative from 08:00 hours on 19th June 2025 until 23:59 hours on 23rd June 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4.A diversion will be signed locally.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow urgent gas utility works to be carried out.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1.No person shall cause any class of traffic to proceed over that length of The Sands, Whalley at its junction with Broad Lane travelling in south easterly direction for approximately 20 metres.
2.Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3.The prohibition will be operative from 00:00 hours on 24th June 2025 until 23:59 hours on 25th June 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4.Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained. Access will be maintained for emergency services whenever and wherever possible.
5.An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure will be signed locally.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the completion of urgent gas works to be carried out.
