(TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024
(TEMPORARY AMENDMENT) ORDER 2024
The Lancashire County Council (“the County Council”) in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, (the Act), and of all other enabling powers, HEREBY makes the following Order:-
The Lancashire County Council Whalley Clitheroe Bypass, Billington, Ribble Valley (Temporary Speed Restriction) Order 2024, is hereby temporarily Amended in that:
i. To amend as follows:
1. To temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding at a speed exceeding 30 MPH on that length of A59 Whalley Clitheroe Bypass, Billington from a point 335 metres south west of its merging with A59 Whalley Clitheroe Bypass, Whalley for a distance of 200 metres in a south westerly direction.
2 To temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle or cycle from proceeding at a speed exceeding 40 MPH on the following lengths of highway;
i. A59 Whalley Clitheroe Bypass, Billington from its junction with A59 Whalley Bypass for a distance of 1633 metres in a north easterly direction.
ii. A59 Whalley Clitheroe Bypass, Billington from a point 335 metres south west of its merging with A59 Whalley Clitheroe Bypass, Whalley to its merging with A59 Whalley Clitheroe Bypass, Whalley
iii. A59 Whalley Clitheroe Bypass, Whalley from its merging with A59 Whalley Clitheroe Bypass, Billington to its junction with A671 Whalley Easterly Bypass
No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations
This Temporary Amendment Order shall come into operation on Thursday 30th May 2024 and may be cited as “The Lancashire County Council (A59 WHALLEY CLITHEROE BYPASS, BILLINGTON, WHALLEY RIBBLE VALLEY) (Temporary Speed Restriction) Order 2024 (Temporary Amendment) Order 2024”
