Scammers are impersonating police officers ..............

‘URGENT*

Good afternoon,

I've just spoken to PC Lillie Parrish who has informed me that there is a devastating amount of elderly people being scammed in East Lancs.

The scammers are impersonating police officers and asking elderly people who live independently to draw out large amounts of cash or purchase expensive watches from Jewellers as part of a police operation.

Lillie sadly informed me of one gentleman who has been scammed out of £40,000.All of this life savings are diminished and he is traumatised. This happened this week in Accrington.

Lillie has asked what we can do to get the word out to as many people as possible.

We need to get this message out ASAP-  A poster had gone on FB, however we all know that this means of information does not suit the target victim age, ie, our clients. We must think of how we can support to safeguard lots of people from this scam. Any suggestions welcome!

I have suggested we notify all clients to be vigilant( as and where possible) local social clubs in our area, church groups, libraries, etc... spread the word to the INT.

Lillie has a meeting with CID tomorrow for an update on the case and how we can move forward to safeguard others, we will await any news from her.

Kind Regards
