Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to recruit firefighters this August

LFRS is excited to announce that it will be recruiting for wholetime apprentice firefighters from 7-16th August. Successful applicants will start their training course in February 2024.
Caroline Harrison, Group Manager and firefighter recruitment lead, said “We’re excited to recruit for wholetime firefighters this August. There’s no career quite like that of a firefighter. While you may think “I couldn’t do that’’, you’ll be surprised at just how many transferrable skills you could bring to the role.”
“All of our firefighters bring something different to the table, which emphasises why we encourage applications from a wide range of people from different backgrounds and experiences, so we can better represent the communities we serve”.
Caroline added, “We are looking for people who can use their initiative and problem solve, are compassionate, individuals who can keep calm under pressure, enjoy working as part of a team, effective communicators, and most of all, those who genuinely want to make a difference to their communities, and be there in their time of need.”
