Dear Resident

A few incidents to let you know about that have occurred over the last few days.

Over the weekend we've received a report of a hosepipe with nails in being left across Old Roman Road at the Sabden end resulting in damage to tyres, I've driven up there today and I can't see anything obvious but thought I'd let you know so you can pay passing attention if you use this road as you go about your business. As of yet I know of no reason why this may have been at this particular location and it's not a method of damage I've come across before so if anyone has any ideas please feel free to enlighten me.

I'm also aware of the piles of deceased sheep that keep cropping up here there and seemingly everywhere over the last few weeks. The latest being in the car park on the right hand side at the foot of Pendle Hill as you come out of Sabden. If anyone has any dashcam or information in relation to a suspicious vehicle likely with a trailer given the number of sheep please do let me know. I am pondering if we have a rogue disposal agent operating so if any of my fellow farmers (well my husband farms, I've a job that pays the bills ;-) have heard on the grapevine about any new knacker man services in operation again please let me know.

I've also had theft and suspicious circumstances reports from the Whalley area of 2 thefts of mopeds and unknown offenders wandering up drives trying car doors in both Springwood Drive and Woodlands Drive area. I suspect they will have also been operational on other estates but it maybe incidents haven't yet been reported or nothings been taken so people are unaware. If you live in Whalley and have CCTV it might be worth a check for any unusual activity overnight either last night or the previous night. Again if you have any footage that may be of use please forward it on to me via email 7277@lancashire.police.uk

Take care
